Germany is known for its economic strength in Europe, rich culture and great respect for the environment. It comprises 320 higher education institutions divided between Technical Universities, Fachhochschulen (Universities of Applied Sciences), Fine Arts and Music as well as Fachhochschulen offering courses in engineering science, economics, social sciences, and design.
The Fachhochschulen are known by the theoretical and methodical but mostly practical studies which are in the form of compulsory internships in the courses and last from six months to one year.
Study System and Universities in Germany:
Studies in Germany follow a system consisting of two cycles of 4 semesters each:
-The cycle of basic studies:
Sanctioned by an intermediate or preliminary examination. In this cycle, the student learns the compulsory subjects constituting the biggest part of his schedule. This exam does not lead to a professional qualification.
-The cycle of main studies:
Sanctioned by a Diplom, Magister Artium or "state exam" graduation exam. The student has more choices at this level because he can deepen his knowledge acquired in the first cycle and also choose the subjects he prefers for a specialization.

Conditions and Visa for study in Germany:
To study in Germany, there are two types of procedures:
- If the student has just graduated, he must register at Studienkolleg.
The studienkolleg train Moroccan and foreign students to basic knowledge before initiating the normal university course. To get there, you have to pass a German entrance exam and another exam at the end of the preparatory year.
- If the student has a Bac + 1 or higher, he must pass an examination called DSH before integrating the university curriculum.
For both cases, to study in Germany, the student must have a German-language degree at the minimum level of B1, it must also be accepted in a German University.
The student must also prove that he has sufficient means to ensure his stay in Germany, university fees, transportation costs back, etc.
For the study visa application, the mentioned elements are obligatory to present to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
